Notes: The standard QL keyboard was fine for casual use, but for actual typing or professional use it wasn't great, to say the least! One solution was the Di-Ren keyboard interface, which enabled the attachment of a standard and readily available IBM PC AT keyboard. The device plugs into the socket of the 8049 chip and the original 8049 chip plugs into the Di-Ren device. On the other end of the cable is a standard DIN 5-pin female socket for plugging in the external keyboard.
